Characterization of PKA-Y1 clones. PKA+∆G1 is a clone transfected with an empty vector, PKA-G1, G2 and G5 are PKA defective Y1 clones stimulated or not with 1mM dibutyryl-cAMP (dcAMP). PKA activity and steroidogenesis were assayed in exponentially growing cells maintained in 10% FCSDME. For each clone, cFos induction (measured by immunocytochemistry) and DNA synthesis (monitored by 3H-thymidine uptake into DNA) stimulated by FGF2 on G0/G1-arrested cells are displayed. Cell proliferation was assayed counting cells daily for 8 days to derive growth curves in 10% FCS-DME and estimating doubling times in the log phase.
